Busch-free@home App (legacy)

The "Busch-free@home" / "ABB-free@home" app will continue to be available in the App Store for legacy reasons, to enable customers with older systems to access the original app design.

This app is not actively developed or maintained. Due to economic unreasonableness, no comprehensive assessment of digital accessibility in accordance with EN 301 549 or WCAG 2.1 was carried out.

Customers who want barrier-free use can switch to the current free@home Next app at any time, which is designed in accordance with current accessibility guidelines and updated regularly.

ABB Welcome App (Legacy)

Partially compliant features:

• Perceivable: Contrast ratios and font sizes are not consistently optimized.

• Operable: Screen reader and alternative input methods (e.g., keyboard navigation) are only partially supported.

• Understandable: Error messages and login dialogs are not consistently accessible.

• Robust: Limited compatibility with assistive technologies (e.g., VoiceOver, TalkBack).

Non-accessible content

• No full screen reader compatibility.

• Missing alternative text for icons and graphical controls.

• Limited keyboard navigation and focus control.

• Videos without subtitles or transcripts.

• Color contrasts do not meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements.

ABB Smart EMS App

Non-accessible content

The following content/functions are currently not fully accessible:

• Some controls are not sufficiently identified by screen readers.

• Navigation is not fully possible using a keyboard or alternative input methods.

• Dynamic content (e.g., pop-ups, dialog boxes) cannot always be focused correctly.

• Non-textual content is not always provided with descriptive alternatives.

We are continuously working to remove these barriers.

ComfortTouch 1.1 (legacy)

The "ComfortTouch 1.1" app will continue to be available in the App Store for legacy reasons, to enable customers with older touch panels to access the original app design.

This app is not being actively developed or maintained. Due to economic unreasonableness, no comprehensive assessment of digital accessibility in accordance with EN 301 549 or WCAG 2.1 was carried out.

Customers who want barrier-optimized use can switch to the current ABB KNX APP-Control app in conjunction with the KNX APP ControlServer at any time, which is designed in accordance with current accessibility guidelines and updated regularly.

ABB SmartConnect APP

Non-accessible content

The following content/functions are currently not fully accessible:

• Some controls are not sufficiently identified by screen readers.

• Navigation is not fully possible using a keyboard or alternative input methods.

• Dynamic content (e.g., pop-ups, dialog boxes) cannot always be focused correctly.

For barrier-free use, we recommend setting our presence detectors locally on the device via potentiometer.

Outdoor Stations

Non-accessible content

• Screen reader compatibility: Touch displays are currently not fully usable with screen readers.

• Tactile features: Push buttons are clearly recognizable, but Braille labels or tactile symbols are missing.

• Acoustic signals: No standard visual alternative (e.g. vibration signal on mobile devices).

• Video/audio transmissions: No integrated subtitles or sign language option.

• Documentation: User manuals and PDFs are not yet fully formatted for accessibility.

Welcome Video Innenstationen

Non-accessible content

The following aspects are currently not or only partially accessible:

• No full screen reader support directly on the device (limited via app only).

• No integrated voice control within the indoor stations (can be enabled via external smart home platforms).

• Tutorial videos and multimedia content are not consistently available with subtitles.

We are continuously working to improve these aspects in upcoming product generations or software updates.

Welcome Audio Innenstationen

Products: ABB Welcome and ABB Welcome IP audio indoor stations (e.g., M2200x-x models, Audio IP handset)

Non-accessible content

• No full voice control / speech commands\ -- Operation is limited to buttons and handset; no voice interaction supported.

• No haptic markings on all buttons\ -- Buttons are clearly structured but not consistently equipped with Braille or tactile symbols.

• No integrated visual display for names or caller ID\ -- Unlike video indoor stations, audio devices do not provide on-screen caller information, which limits accessibility for users with combined hearing and visual impairments.

• Limited mobile integration\ -- Unlike video indoor stations or the ABB Welcome App, pure audio devices do not support smartphone notifications.

Roomcontrol-Displays
